Sculpture Restoration
Skylight Studios restores sculptures of all sizes and materials. In most cases, unless the damage is too severe, we are able to successfully restore sculptures and statues back to their original beauty. Anyone who has a sculpture large or small in need of repair, should email detailed photos, sizes and description of the damage. We can access what it would take to return the statue back to its original condition. Below are some recent examples of our restoration work.
Adams Memorial, Plaster Cast Restoration

This plaster copy of the famous Adam’s Memorial arrived with many defects. It had major losses (pieces of the statue had broken off and were missing entirely). Using photographs Skylight Studios was able to reconstruct the missing elements in clay, make casts and attach them to the original, thus returning the cast to its original condition.
St John’s Church, Worcester, MA
The alter at St John’s Church in Worcester, MA was missing several major sculptural elements that had existed in the church’s past. Using only historic black and white photos Skylight Studios was able to restore the alter to its original beauty. By re-sculpting the statues of St Joseph and Mary, as well as the lambs, scroll and domes, it now looks as it once did almost 100 years ago.
